..that's when I was let go from my job of nearly 7 years. It's also the reason we've been more than a bit negligent about keeping up with our posts on the Pewfie site.
After I found myself in the great big world of unemployment (Nov 13th), Tonia and I took about 5 minutes before knowing we would use this opportunity to move closer to family. We had wanted to do so for years, but never were able to figure out how we could afford to do so. Well, the decision was made for us!
The next month was a whirlwind of activity as we decided on where exactly we were going and arranged the cross-Canada move. While extroardinarily hectic, the toughest part was knowing we were pulling Kadin out of his pre-school.
Tonia's mom was also a life-saver, as she flew out to help us out in getting everything together, and subsequently flew back with us.
On Dec 11, we left Squamish and started the long and painful trip to Newfoundland. Long and painful because Air Canada are a bunch of assholes, but that's a story for another day.
And now nearly 4 months later we're in Marystown, Newfoundland (and Labrador..if you're picky about that sort of thing). I'm still unemployed, but have two good prospects lined up. Fingers crossed that some good news comes this following week!
Thanks to all the friends and family who've sent in their well wishes and support. It is very much appreciated. And Marla, I'm the worst friend ever..and terribly sorry we weren't able to see you guys before we had to leave. I'll email or call you in the next few days.
Off to St. John's for a few days to look for work; either professional, or stripping. I'll keep you posted!!
Where to begin? Hopefully my pewfie's won't be angry at mommy for waiting so long to post. But the last few months have been up in the air and its really hard to find the time to post.
The computer is in the room that Declan's sleeps in and so with the only free time we have - after 7 - its real hard to type out a post and put up pictures. But nonetheless I will try harder from now on.
First we would like to congratulate Umar and Madiha on the arrival of their beautiful little girl Menaal. I am again very jealous of everyone who has a little girl. I mean just look at that gorgeous gorgeous face. :)

Now where do I begin.
Christmas was amazing. The boys were spoiled much more then I would have liked but such is life when living with grandparents.
I cannot begin to tell you how much they have grown since we got here. Declan is like a little man now and even though I see him everyday I can see how much taller he has gotten. His hair is so long and he has had his first haircut although it was only his bangs. Yes...I am letting his hair grow out as well. And because I am letting Declan's grow I am also doing the same for Kadin.
Declan does talk quite a bit now and we are convinced that he knows more then he actually lets on. He uses words like "yes", "nanny", "mommy", "naw", "juice", "eat", "read" and although these are the words he chooses to use himself he does understand everything we tell him.
His interactions with Kadin are priceless. They are lost without each other. Declan imitates everything Kadin does and already follows him around endlessly.
Kadin and Declan play together amazingly regardless of the age difference. Although there are oftens "owies" here and there, they recover and life goes on.
Declan is an amazing eater. He will eat his entire meal and then run to whoever is still eating and eat from their plate. He has yet to refuse anything given to him. He is a beast when it comes to food. One thing I got right with him though is water. Declan will drink nothing but water and milk. His sippy cups only have water in them and he drinks it like its nobody's business. He does refer to it as "juice" and points to the cupboard holding the cups whenever he wants some.
Declan also has some odd habits he has picked up. For example sucking on the living room rug or chewing on the floor protectors under the furniture. We are pretty sure he thinks its a cookie. He also likes dirty boots to chew on and will eat anything he finds in the sofa. Declan is super attached to his nanny and says her name most clear. He runs to her for comfort and never lets her eat a meal without him on her lap.
Declan adores Daisy and loves to feed her and hug her and chase her. I don't know if I wrote this before but Daisy was actually the thrid word he spoke.
He loves to dance and listen to music. He has about 20 music producing machines and cannot get enough of them. Anything that dances and sings or plays music are his favorite things.
And now to my little man. Kadin....he has gotten so big. All of his pants he is outgrowing, he is so smart and personable. He is in kinder-start now and goes to daycare 3 times a week. He loves it and loves the other kids. Oh wait he also started skating. Hasan has taken him a number of times and boy does he have the hang of it.
I was worried that if he fell or didnt have a good time he would give up and not want to return but ya know thats just not Kadin. He is determined and confident and that we are very proud of.
Kadin has school time with one of us everyday. During this time he cuts out shapes or colours or writes his name. He molds clay and reads books. He is amazing and never ceases to amaze us. He has a busy mind and so can be easily distracted but he enjoys the work and even after the first day he would ask about school time.
Kadin has also started playing computer games. He loves it. Too much probably so we try and contain it as much as possible but there are goods things about it as well and so we just watch how much time he spends on there.
The energy level Kadin has can be very overwhelming at times. I tell people he does laps and that is the truth. And actually the more tired he is the more crazy he gets. No matter what activity we do or how much we try to tire him out, it doesn't matter. His energy is endless.
His vocab level continues to impress us and everyone else he speaks to . All are surprised to learn his age just because of how well he speaks. He now answers the phone of course and, if not distracted by the TV, can pull it off rather well.
I am now going to try and put up some pictures as quickly as I can before bedtime.
Here the boys are lounging by nanny and poppy's fireplace.
Before Xmas I bought them a few matching outfits. I only have so much time for that sort of thing.
Aren't we cute!? haha
They both have these very intense smiles that just light up an entire room.
Declan's eyes have changed (sorry Maham and Zahrah) to brown but they are so big. A lady at walmart the other day told him he was too pretty to be a boy! I guess thats a compliment! lol
Kadin tries different things with his hair but inevitably it always lays flat and forward. Look at that gorgeous face!
I am not sure anything I write here will make the picture any funnier.
Kadin again with that beautiful smile.
Declan really loves Daisy and can be found trying to hug her all the time. He is attached much more then Kadin ever was.
We went for a walk at a local pond. Kadin wanted to walk Daisy right or wrong and for the most part he did a great job.
Declan with a dirty chocolate face and a dirty ice cream face! Is this boy ever clean!? hahha Can you stand the beauty that is my baby boy!? :)
It was nanny's birthday recently and the boys were eager to help of course.
I am pretty sure Kadin is about 15 in this picture.
He likes me to take this sort of odd pictures of him. Here he is with his monkey.
And finally both boys enjoying the Newfoundland weather.
