As most know by now "What now?" is a question we have been asking ourselves for 2 weeks. Hasan was laid off about 2 weeks ago and life has been pure chaos ever since.
I will say that it is true that when a door closes another opens. For so long we have wanted our kids to be near their grandparents and all relatives for that matter. This lay off and severence pay allows us to get back east.
Its not a perfect situation. Ultimately Hasan has to find a job so we can stay there. If that job doesn't happen we will have to head back to the mainland but even then it will be to Ottawa where the other half of our family is.
For Kadin and Declan this is a dream come true. Like I heard a lady say "We want the grandparents to be grandparents - not distant relatives."
So we have been packing and planning and running around like mad dogs for the last few weeks. Nanny is here helping and we are getting it done. Oh did I mention we are moving back to newfoundland?? We are all so thrilled and although its a big change its for the better.
Kadin's last day of school is next week and we fly out on the 12th. For the most part he seems pretty ok with it all. In some cases it does sound like he thinks we are coming back here but we keep telling him the difference in the nicest way. I am sad to leave his school but we will find another I am sure. Kadin has been doing fantastic at school and with only girls in his class - he has become a real lady's man.
I can honestly say that Kadin has a super appreciation for music. He sings all the time and is always putting on shows for us. He makes up the words all himself and each one always has a very hard rock feel to it. His imagination knows no boundaries and he is always full of stories and tales to tell.
Declan is growing so so much. He recently had his 1 year shots and weighed in at 26 pounds. He is a big boy and he loves to eat. He will take any food you have and gobble it up. He still has the bottle way too much but we are working on it being only for naps. And no he does not sleep through the night. But nanny is here now and he is sleeping with her. He still gets up about 4 times a night. At this point with so much going on we are just gonna ride it out and we know at some point he will sleep through - right? hehe
Ok I really have very little time here but I will post again once we are in Nf.
However I do want to wish my hubby and the boys babu a BIG HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY!!!!
It has snowed so much here I can't even tell you. In two days it was like 2 feet of snow fell and honestly its the most I have ever seen in Vancouver. Of course most of it is gone now because the winter rain has started. Here we are enjoying the snow while it lasted.
Someone gave Declan yogurt and it wasn't me. :)
Nanny and her boys.
And here we have Declan asleep with Kadin's bear. Kadin actually gave it to him to help him sleep. When he gave it to him Declan rolled over and hugged into it.
