Anniversaries and Zoo Animals

Happy (one day late posting) Anniversary to us! We had our first wedding anniversary yesterday. A year has gone by so quickly and we couldnt think of a better way to celebrate then with all of us together as a family.

We celebrated by heading out to Aldergrove on Saturday and spending the night in a hotel there and then hitting the Vancouver Zoo on Sunday.

Hasan and I exchanged gifts early in the week. I gave him a sword, something he has wanted for as long as I have known him and he was kind enough to get me my first anniversary ring. Perfect match to my wedding set. We were both extremely pleased.

Now back to the zoo. It was a blast and Kadin loved it - to say the least. It rained a little but quickly passed and we had a great time.

Kadin was so excited to see all of the animals. We took a train ride, had some lunch, got lots of pictures and really enjoyed our day. It wasn't that crowded and we were able to let Kadin do a lot of running around which was really good.

Here are some pics of us at the hotel. Notice how Kadin looks brown next to me and white to his babu? :)

The next group will give some a heart attack. Kadin spent a lot of the night jumping from one bed to another. The first time he did it I thought I would die but he was really enjoying it and was quite skilled as well. Didnt miss once. Life with boys I guess eh?

And now the zoo.

I think Kadin was pretty convinced this little monkey was the only animal at the zoo and it was hard to tear him away.

This was the first of many "look away cheeses" we got from Kadin throughout the day.

Hanging in there...less then 7 weeks now!! :) I said to my doctor at last week's appt "I know your not in the business of guessing but this baby is a big one eh?" His response was "How big was your first baby? (9lbs and 15 oz) How big is your husband? (we have all seen the shirtless pics). I think if you and your husband want a big healthy baby then you will get your wish." And then he giggles. What do you spose that means!? hahah

There was a great little train ride we took around the zoo.

Kadin was Spiderman/Superman for most of the day. Here he is showing us his flying expertise.

And finally here is Kadin after 3 hours in the zoo and about 30 seconds in the van.

It was tiring but a great way to spend our anniversary. I would not of had it any other way.

Less then 8 Weeks

Well like said in the title we passed the 30 week spot this weekend so its less then 8 weeks now until we have our next little pewfie.

The excitement and the stress is building but all managable nonetheless.

Kadin seems all Ok with everything. The only thing he does correct us on is whether or not the baby is coming to live with us. Whenever this is mentioned Kadin will point out that it is mommy, babu abd Kadin. And when I say "And baby will live here too", he will say "no."

We are sure he will come around. Just this morning he was delivering babies in his room. :) Kadin always watches baby story with me during the day and so he has picked up on the whole thing and gets it without any sense of worry or concern.

He came running out of his bedroom this morning with hands cupped, yelling "Here is the baby." He left the little one in my care and returned to his room. I listened and could hear him saying "Push, push, that's it. Push the baby is coming...here it is!!" He then ran out again and placed this baby in my hands proclaiming "Its a brown baby!" It was cute and very imaginative.

Later in the morning he came out the hall asking me "Mommy what's that noise?" (This story has nothing to do with babies but my ability to sit here and write this post is limited and I still want to get to pics)

Kadin stood in front of me and made this sorta bird/penguin like sound while holding his fingers to his face, and again asked me "What's that sound?" I kinda looked and him and laughed and said "Its you silly."

He started to ignore me and continued making the sound while turning quickly around to see what the "sound" was. He would make the sound and then act as if it was frightening him. Priceless....

Ok I have to do the pics now.

Here is Kadin doing his best not to pose for a sensible picture.

Here we have babu and Kadin enjoying some time in their fort....well Kadin called it his treehouse.

Silly bathtime hair. Funny thing is if you try and style Kadin's hair in anyway, he usually has a fit wanting it to only be straight down, the way it always is.

Kadin does love to read and lately he has taken to selecting one of our novels, claiming it as his own and actually spending time "reading" it. I am so proud of this selection. :)

Kadin does dress himself to the best of his ability. It usually results in backward pants/shorts and underwear looking not quite right but he is extremely independent and I gladly will let him dress anyway he wants. This is his attempt at pajama pants which he normally gets right but this night he wanted them up way high.

And in case you havent seen any national news lately we have been having a heatwave here in good ole BC. It has literally gotten just over 40 degrees somedays. Its sick and Im sick and I hate the heat and its been hard. For pregnant women the heat is hard, let alone scorching heat that doesnt ever relent.

But alas never say never folks. I swore after going through the agony of being pregnant with Kadin during the summer "I would never do it again." Life just doesnt work that way. :)

We have air conditioning but it does little in the way of relief; especially because the sun sets in front of our house. Going out during the day in my state is pretty much out of the question so during the weekend we got out early in the morning. Here are some pics of us at the park.

Quick Updates and Photos

I may start not allowing Hasan to put up posts....no title?? I mean come on....

We had a lot of problems with the site. Mostly our fault but all seems to be up and Ok now....for now.

Not a lot of updates and to be honest I am stuck sitting on the bed if I want to be online. The computer chair hurts...a lot. This is very uncomfortable for me so I will keep it short and mostly just describe the pics I am putting up.

A lot of people have been asking how I am doing...ya know being 7 months pregnant and all. Its going good. Its hot. I am hungry all the time. I weight 5000 pounds and the baby weighs about 2000....at least thats how it feels after a day of chasing my 3 year old around in 40 degree weather. But only 9.5 weeks to go just about and that makes me happy.

We know this baby is gonna be a whopper just like his brother (or most likely bigger) and so we have opted for another c-section. My doc agreed that was best.

My most recent appt went well and I am sure they will continue to be.

Against my better judgement I am putting up a pic of my fat self. Its a beautiful thing to have this little (ahem) bugger kicking me endlessly throughout my days and especially after we enjoy some spicy food. But I am big...and I still have almost ten weeks to grow. Should be an experience.

I have plenty of pics of Kadin to make up for what you just had to look at. :)

Here is Kadin fighting the aforementioned dragon. He is fully equipped with his helmet - pumpkin basket from Halloween, his sword - an I Love Newfoundland hockey stick, and his sheild - a tool box from his tool storage toy.

Have we mentioned that Kadin believes every plane he hears flying over our house is on its way to Newfoundland? Cute.

dragon fight2.jpg

dragon fight3.jpg

Its hot here most days...real hot and so like any child Kadin likes to be at least shirtless. The following are examples of his shirtless days. And yes he may look malnourished is one pic but I assure you he gets all the cereal and cheese toast he can handle. Have we mentioned he is a picky eater?

shirtless1.jpg

shirtless2.jpg

Kadin is also at a stage where he likes to tell us exactly how to do things. How and what to cook. When exactly he will go to bed. Usually laid out like this "Mommy I will eat my toast, brush my teet, go to bed and then get a treat?" He is uber obsessed with telling Hasan how to play hide and seek. "OK babu sit here and put the blanket on your face and ears and feet." If for any reason Hasan strays from the instrucions armegeddon approaches.

Here he is posing for and telling me to take a picture of him kissing the camera.

camera kiss.jpg

Kadin has developed the slightest obsession with Spiderman. Here he is in his latest outfit posing just about perfectly I would say. :)

spiderman pose.jpg

He had also spent sometime over the last few weeks riding an imaginary horse so we bought him this. Yesss...its a lion, but he loves it anyways.

new horsey.jpg

Hasan and I discussed it and we wanted Kadin to be comfortable when he watches hours of TV so we bought him this as well. Just kidding...does it look like he is watching TV?

Kadin sure does love to dance.

Kadin sure does love his babu....

Although here it looks like he is initially trying to pick Hasan's nose and then trying to bite it off.

I wanted to post this pic of Kadin with Hasan's chins to make me feel better about my pregnancy pic.

I gave Daisy a hair cut yesterday and as you can see from this pic she hates me.

The next group of pics I like to call "poser pics". Its where Kadin tries to look like and or act like he doesnt know I am taking the picture. (and that most times he hasnt told me exactly how and when to take the pic)

Here is Sly Giggle Poser.

Here is Computer Tech Poser.

Here is "I wish it wasnt Raining Poser". What you dont know is that he spent an hour leading up to this pic smashing his toy cars off the patio doors.

.....

Kadin has had a lot of first's in his life since our last post.

He introduced us to his first imaginary human friend named Toby. Toby lives away, and is only reachable using an old cell phone which has no batteries. I stress human, because Dragon and Monster and Shark are some long-standing playmates who have been good company to our son for some time now.

He had his first swimming lessons in June. They went remarkably well, as Kadin was already at the point where he can put his head under water and run around in water that runs up to his chin. Of course, that is balanced by the fact that he has an obsessive need for the purple ball whenever we go to the pool. Once the ultimate goal of making contact with the purple ball is acheived, he insists I take him to deep water and then again insists I let him walk, even when the water is deeper than he is tall. At least he doesn't pee in the pool!

He did his first backward summer-sault, throwing orange juice all over his body and the floor, then scream at the top of his lungs. Funny enough, the glass of juice landed upright and he continued drinking it about 9 seconds later.

He had his first face painting (and shortly after, his second!).

face paint2.jpg

He drew his first picture that actually looks like something. In this case, Elmo.

So this month Kadin's has been going through a mental growth spurt. His vocabulary, manner of speech, and conversations with imaginary friends have been amazing to witness.

While he can certainly throw a screaming rage tantrum with the best of them, what he does more often now (when upset) is quickly turn around, cross his arms tightly across his chest and walk into a corner of the livingroom or kitchen. From there he'll announce to us (still with his back turned) "I'M MAD". He'll stay there for an entire minute or two, or at least until he forgets that he was mad or finds a piece of string to play with.

He'll also randomly give me a huge hug and quietly say while pressed into my neck "I love you babu, I love when you come home".

A few days ago he was having a Cinnabun as a treat, and Tonia picked up an interesting conversation he was having...with himself

(Kadin, growling): Eat the cinnamin bun.
(Kadin): The cinnamin bun's good.
(Kadin, growling): Yeah, eat it.
(Kadin): Ok monster, OK.

When Tonia asked him who he was talking to, he calmly turned around and said "The Monster".

Now to change the topic for a moment....

Last week we went in for the gender determination ulta-sound and.....we're having a boy! The gods of Hand-Me-Down's are smiling for sure! Here are some pictures of us right outside the U C Baby clinic in Langley, calling our parents.

Tonia's just past the 27 week mark, so baby #2 is going to be here pretty damn soon!

Since it's taken me 42 minutes so far to write this post, I just want to share our Canada day experience before signing off.

This year we went downtown (Squamish) to see the parade, take in a dog-show going on at an adjacent park, and wander a farmers market. After that we headed to the West Coast Railway Heritage park where Kadin had a lovely face painting, and we went on a 30 minute miniature train ride.

After nap time, we all hung out, had a lovely BBQ dinner, and tried not to melt as it was a hot, hotttt day.

So to close, some random pictures from this month. Enjoy, and good night!!
