Finally taking that step

So starting Monday this week we began potty training Kadin. Honestly we got up at 7 am Monday morning and by 8:30 I thought I would kill myself.

I'm just not a good waiter (like waiting on time, not like serving you dinner). I found myself being impatient and frustrated...everything they tell you not to be. They being all knowing gods of potty training.

I spent most of Monday on the floor of our bathroom. Kadin was really good about it. He would sit for 3 days straight as long as I was reading him a book. But being pregnant, it was difficult to say the least.

He actually did pee that first day in his potty. A great success I think.

We waited this long to start for a number of reasons. Kadin would not go near the potty. He hated it. Screamed and cried just to not sit on it. And I knew not to push it. Plus we had a lot of stuff going on since he turned 2 and time just didn't permit me what I needed, until now.

So Tuesday was better because a co-worker of Hasan's gave us permission...hehe..I mean awesome advice to put the potty in the living room. Its one of those things you think of doing but wonder if you are the only crazy mom who would put her kids toilet in the dining room.

And so I did. And it changed eveything. Kadin did pee in his jammies that day. Seconds after I asked him if he had to pee, he said No and then immediately followed that with "Mommy, I'm wet." It was all over him and the floor. I showed as much restrain as I could but it was hard. I knew I had to figure out the pattern and be as consistent as the clock ticking.

I literally asked him every 5 minutes if he had to pee. If he said no I got him to agree to tell me when he had to pee. It worked and for the most part he actually spent almost the entire day on the potty. His choice.

Yesterday was great again except for one accident in his new Blue's Clue's underwear.

And today...well today my son was a super star. He told me everytime he had to pee. He woke from overnight and his nap with a clean diaper. He even freakin went on his own. Pulled down his own underwear and sat until he peed.

Popping is the tough one but today he tried twice to poop in the potty. There were lotsa farts but no poop. I am sure it will come with time. Too much info? Too bad. :)

And now even more amazing stories about this little geek.

This evening Kadin and I took a bath. While in there he kept saying he had to pee and I told him he had to wait until we got out. He did have his pumpkin bucket though and he kept holding it to himself as if he were peeing in it. So I assumed he had peed in our bath water.

However after getting him out of the water and dried off he ran to his toilet to pee. HE HAD ACTUALLY HELD IT!!!

Ok now something even greater then that. I had gotten him ready for bed which includes a diaper. We aint ready for the overnight just yet. He had that thing on for an hour and came running to me to pee. He wanted the diaper off and he wanted to pee in the toilet. Dang I'm emotional.

No matter what...the good...the bad...the ugly....the freakin gorgeous....this kid never never ceases to amaze me.

Now I must knock on every piece of wood I can find. I can hear the jinx ferries laughing around me as they plot the map for the pee and poop bombs tomorrow. :)

I have no idea what he is eating here but it sure is nice to see him enjoy food. Its probably ice cream.

Kadin loves to jump from his table telling us the entire time "Look mommy, Im Peter Pan." I wish. Ya know so he would never grow up...get it? :)
