More sharing goodness

Another few weeks have slipped by, so here's what's going on in our world.

DAISY GET'S HIT BY A CAR (but she's doing fine now...!)

KADIN BECOMES SATAN AFTER 1 AM

I'm sure there is more, but I'll bet everyone is at least slightly curious about the two headlines there. So, let me elaborate.

This past Tuesday I was taking Daisy out before I left for work. She was off-leash as she usually is, since she just does her business on our front lawn and goes back inside.

What happened though was that another dog (off leash as well) was walking with his owner towards us. Once they got within about 10 feet, Daisy got playful and darted towards him...and right in front of a car that was driving by.

It was a horrible sight to see and hear her in such pain. I picked her up and rushed her inside, and after waking up Tonia to let her know what happened, I called the vet and rushed her there.

Through some sort of miracle, she actually didn't have any serious injuries. Basically just a few cuts on her front legs that required stitches.

She was in obvious pain the first day after the stitches, but since then has been pretty much back to her normal self.

Now, let's talk about how my son is the devil himself.

Kadin generally is asleep by 8:30 or so. He'll sleep soundly until about 1 AM, at which point he'll start to try and get in bed with us.

This past Saturday, Kadin made eight attempts to get in bed with us, in a 1.5 hour span of time! It was a nightmare from 2 to 3:30 AM. Every time we'd start to doze off, he would start sneaking into our room again.

Eventually being persistent won out....though somehow he ended up in our bed at around 6 AM. Tonia claims I woke up and got him when he was crying, but I think she's just in league with the Devil (that is to say, our son).

Now, don't get me wrong. I LOVE cuddling with Kadin when he's in our bed. What isn't so fun is waking up at 5 AM and realizing that I have exactly 0.0002323 milimetres of room between me and the edge of the bed because Kadin is essentially sleeping on top of my face. Attempts to move him result in a few things; failure because he's so damn heavy, failure because he starts sobbing and screaming, or failure because Tonia smothers me with a pillow for snoring.

Ok, so me snoring isn't really Kadin's fault, but if I'm calling my son the devil already, it's not like accusing him of other things makes me any worse of a person.

Now, some more pictures from California!!
