He keeps getting and getting and getting....heh

Christmas was fantastic. Kadin was spoiled and so were we. People gave us beautiful things and we are very thankful and grateful.

The food was really good if I do say so myself and besides me having a cold and Kadin having a cough, we could not of asked for anything different.

Kadin adores his gifts especially his tool set and train. He got plenty of cloths and toys from Santa. In the last two days Kadin has been a doctor, a carpenter and a train conductor.

It is still raining here....heavily. It hasn't stopped for at least a week now. Oh well.

We are heading into the New Year and unfortunately Hasan will be working New Years. That means I am going to bed at 10 pm. :)

Ok some pictures. Well I have a lot but I will just put some Xmas ones up for now. Enjoy.

On Christmas Eve I can always remember my mom taking pictures of us putting up our stocking for Santa. I wanted that from Kadin. Funny enough he would only take the picture while riding his bike. Understand that this was probably the first time Kadin showed any interest in that bike.

Nice one...

I was lucky enough to wake up after Santa had been there, but before Kadin woke up. I got this picture. How exciting.

Kadin received a doctor's set and loved it. Here he is administering needles and dosing out medicine to his abu and I.

He also received two large floor puzzles from his nanny and poppy. One is the map of Canada and his nanny said it was so he would know where his nanny and poppy, and his dadi and aba jan lived. Its beautiful.

I bought this train for Santa to give to Kadin when Kadin was three months old. I only gave it to Santa to give to Kadin this year. He loves it. It sings the ABC's but kind of fast. Kadin does know his ABC's so he tries dearly to keep up. He pretends to save his little Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird and Zoey dolls...oh sorry Hasan...I mean figures from the tracks.

Nanny and Poppy gave this to Santa for Kadin and he loves it as well. He bangs the nails into the base and uses the wrench to move the bolts. He can also be found with the train going and using his hammer to fix the tracks; trying to get it done before the train gets to where he is working. Brilliant eh?

I missed my family this year but it was a really nice holiday. I love my husband and I love my son...and I am thankful and grateful everyday.

Kadin is growing so fast and he is getting very smart. At the same time he is braver and more daring. He doesn't listen to us as often but he understands that he is suppose to. One step forward, two steps back I guess. :)

Happy New Year everyone.

I hear jingle bells!

So this is probably the last post until after Christmas Day. I am off to bake cookies today for some friends.

We have beautiful white snow here YEH!

Ok I'm lying.....Santa didn't hear he is too busy. This is what we have. And we are going to have it until Tuesday. Super.

I don't have many pictures but I assure you I will make up for it over the holidays.

And now for Kadin. He is such a show off. He just had to climb this ladder and "read" to us. No worries Hasan and I were always in very close proximity! Later he would make his abu stand with him and read as well.

Oh and before I go I was placing our Christmas stockings on the wall the other night and after putting Kadin's up he looked at it and said "Kadin" (It has Kadin written on it in silver paint). Oh.... does that mean he can read? I certainly didn't tell him what it said and this time last year he could not say his name.

Interesting indeed. :)

Saying Merry Christmas to me is about wishing someone happiness and peace and joy, so with that from the Hai family I say Merry Christmas to everyone. May this holiday season be wonderful for you and yours.

'Tis the Season

This past weekend we attended the Squamish Santa parade. It was real cute and fun. Best part? Hasan drove the Shaw van in the parade. Kadin and I looked on. It was sweet and we got some pictures. Kadin was standing in his stroller and yelling Hi and Meree Kismaas to everyone. He was covered in Candy Cane and having a ball.

He was suppose to ride in the bucket with Hasan but after walking 5-6 blocks by myself to watch the parade I was called on cell phone and asked to return and get Kadin because he had spent the last 20 minutes crying for me. Ahhh a son's love. :)

This weekend we have to spend shopping unfortunately. I finally got the $$ I was waiting for and now I have to make sure Santa gets Kadin's last few gifts.

We finally decorated here and put up the Christmas tree. Kadin is being very good and staying away as much as he can. He loves the star decorations on the tree most of all.

Anyways I have some pictures. Enjoy.

Here is the tree and Kadin enjoying it. I put most of it up after he had gone to bed so he was very excited in the morning.

At the parade. Kadin was a sticky sticky mess but he was loving it. Candy was being thrown at him and there were lights everywhere. It was great.

Heard this morning....

When Kadin was very young I watched this news special about this dad who wrote a book about how he and his wife raised their 3 kids.

His kids were all great. Like football players and doctors and lawyers and stuff....He said he always let them make choices, limited choices but choices nonetheless. For example what pajamas did they want to wear to bed: Choice 1 or Choice 2? Only two though. If given more the child may become greedy and or confused. Temper tantrums ensue.

Allowing these choices accomplishes two things:

1) Less temper tantrums. When Kadin is involved with whatever the process is, he is much less likely to get upset then when the decision is simply presented to him.

2) He actually learns to make decisions. Good ones for him. This way when some sicko in the future presents him with cigarettes or worse, he will know how to make good choices for himself.

This morning Hasan bought Kadin a donut to go with my morning coffee from Tim's. I drink the coffee. When I got it I offered it to him, the donut that is. He responded by saying "No tank you mommie. I eatin' ma cereal."

Yeah...some success. :)

November Chill

Well we have snow and lots of it I think. A few centimetres. I have pics below.

We finished up some Christmas shopping the last two weekends and we have been real busy. Tis the season!

Kadin has been growing way too fast and he speaks in full sentences now. Just the other day we tried to get him to speak to his nanny on the phone but he was watching Nemo. He said "I no talk to nanny I watch Nemo". Pretty good eh?

He also sings the entire alphabet and only gets stuck on that dang hard "LMNOP". He says "OOOP" instead. :)

This weekend we hit the Christmas party and Kadin had a ball and got a cold. Imagine that? Who'd thunk you could get sick from a kids ball pit? hah He would not get his picture taken with Santa. Hasan had to sit with him. We will see how it comes out.

He did enjoy the train ride though. Sent everyone - including myself - into a tizzy when he decided to explore the train tunnel while the operator was putting the other kids on board. That little explorer.

Yesterday was Abu's birthday and Hasan turned a ripe 28!! WOO HOO! We had cake and played much playstation! :)

I have lots of pics for today so Im gonna get started.

We had been taking night walks before it got really cold. Although we did buy Kadin a snow suit this weekend so now we can start again. I think Olivia looks like a masked thief in these pics. :)

Kadin loves to cuddle with us on the sofa. He is so sweet. I'm a mess of course. :)

Here are Kadin and Olivia all dressed up as well as with dirty spaghetti face and hands.

And now the Christmas party. There was also a small train at the mall that Kadin enjoyed.
