Ok well I know that this story may be a little crude...but he is only a baby and its too funny not to tell.
Today we went out in search of clothes and a stool for Kadin. OH WAIT...I forgot about the clothing store story. Ok let me tell that one first and then the crude one.
As Kadin was running from one end of the kids clothing store to another he was discovering so many things. You have to know that this is a consignment shop so there are toys and cloths and books everywhere!
Kadin discovered this...well actuallyI don't know what it was but it had two microphones attached and that was all Kadin needed. He immediately picked up a microphone and started singing into it. Im not kidding! Hasan was so amazed by it...well we both were....he even asked how Kadin would know to do that. I wasn't sure but I guess he saw it somewhere.
But regardless of where he picked it up there he was singing his little freaking heart out...babbling beautiful lyrics with the best of them. God I wish I had had the camera. Oh well...
And now the not so innocent story.
We went to another store looking for the stool. No luck but we did see this unusual garbage container...or at least thats what we thought it was. It was in the shape of a duck. We pointed it out to Kadin right away, who proceeded to spend the next 10-15 minutes walking around the store saying - ok here it is close your eyes if you think you can't handle it - "COCK". YIKES!!
Yes cock. Im not sure if it was the duck sound he was making or what. I mean as we know his first word was duck and since saying that first word he had the duck word down....but not today.
Today it was cock...and it was cock being yelled, sang, babbled all over the store. I could hardly hold my pee. Honest to god. Hasan kept looking at me with this look and silly smile on his face and all I could do was laugh...hysterically. Which is probably why Kadin said the word for as long as he did...but I mean come on...how would you react?
Anyways here are some pics.
We did actually find this amazing blanket for Kadin's bed. Since moving to his bed we have yet to put together a sheet set for him but when I saw this I had to have it. Now I just have to get everything else to match to it. Cute eh? I was thinking today too that we need to really vamp up his room to make it exciting and stimulating. I was going to look for a wallpaper boarder and then cut out pieces and paste them on his wall.
Now that I have this blanket I may take pics of the bits and pieces and have them blown up for his wall. We shall see.

Here is Kadin successfully putting on his own sunglasses...well sorta.

Kadin's supper today. It was an easy one. Doesnt it look delic? Kraft Dinner with good ole ketchup!

And here he is stuffing it in his face. He really has the utensils down now so he does very well feeding himself. I mean he has done that for awhile obviously but with fingers..or with utensils, which most times resulted in a lap full of food as apposed to a belly full.

And here is Kadin farting......hehehehe

And here is Kadin shrugging.....

And here is Kadin drinking water with his supper.....happy everyone? :)

Did I mention we like ketchup? MMMMM ketchup!

Kadin loves the clothes hamper as do most kids. Now when he gets in it he makes the "choo choo" sound for a train. Uhhhh how cute. :)

Kadin got his first knee scrape today. I mean he falls all the time but for some reason, no hurts. About two weeks ago he got this teeny tiny scrape on his hand and he is still talking about it, everytime we ask "Kadin where's your hand?" Out comes the injured one with sounds of sorrow and pain. But this he weathered as if it never happened.

This is what Kadin does to our house about 45 times a day. Why do I even bother cleaning before he goes to bed? I have no idea!

And finally our view as we eat supper.

This morning Kadin and I headed to the park. After 2 days of rain it was nice to see the sun and take advantage.
Kadin loves it there and really only likes to spend his time in the swing. We have been fortunate, or maybe unfortunate, that no other kids are there. Kadin does not want to get out of the swing...ever. It takes a lot of enticing. Even with his ball obsession he still won't get out of the swing even for that.
When he did finally get out, some man came by with his puppy and Kadin immediately gave chase. I was scrambling to pick up our things and chase after him. He is quite the runner. I caught up to him before he reached the road.
Daisy is off getting a hair cut today. Im sure I will post pics later.
Until then here are pics of Kadin.
Kadin likes to multi-task or is it that he is OCD? Im not sure. But he would not swing without holding the ball. I said to him "Kadin what will the other children think? *SOB*" ;) He just didnt care.

Once he was out of the swing he enjoyed sometime on this contraption. Using my hand and allllllllllll my strength I stand there and jump it up and down. I would get on but it just doesnt work the same when one side in planted firmly on the ground. Just doesnt bounce the same for some reason......

Here Kadin is looking as handsome as he can possibly get. Well that's not necessarily true...You can see here, that he is just as about as excited as he can get, given the bungee like drool swinging from his bottom lip.

He wanted to smile for the picutre but his hat was caught in the chain.

Kadin loves it when mommy pushes him in the swing using his dirt covered, bog sogged, doggy poo sandles. Ahhh the good times to cherish forever. :)

Here is the road runner as he sprints for freedom.

And here is Kadin as his "run for life" is grinded to a hault by thin....thin............thin blades of grass.

He is actually a pretty good soccer player. He has good ball control for a almost 22 months old.

Here is mommy's normal swing. Today mommy couldnt swing.

Kadin says to mommy "WOWEEEEE. RAWK."

And now you will forgive me as I post pictures no one cares about. :)
Oh this is our house from the outside. We live on the top, the house on the left...that's our balcony.

Doesnt our ball look nested?

I wasnt going to post these pics but I have been cleaning Crystal Light since Friday and well.....sorry Meghan! Look at the mess. Funny thing is the last time she came by she lost desert all over the kitchen! :)

Here is a view from our playground.

Some summer berries.

And finally.....drum roll please......a tree.

Well in about 6 weeks Hasan and I will be married. So cool....
Kadin has been crazy lately and by that I mean...really crazy. He is pushing us all the time. Trying to assert himself and make himself the boss. Visits to the store use to be calm and fun now he always throws a fit and one of us have to leave the store with him. Its not too bad. We remain consistent and he seems to get it...he just doesn't give in easily. :)
Last night a friend came by to hang out with me and Kadin was in love. Whenever Meghan drops by Kadin has a new love. He sits in her lap, puts his arm around her and babbles and babbles to her...laughing hysterically at his own jokes said in a language only he understands.
Anyways here are some new pics.
Kadin is actually rolling his eyes at me here.

Some fun time with abu before going to bed.

Jake the gorgeous dog from downstairs.

Kadin loves to wear his hats. He freaks out if you even try and take it off him.

Here is Kadin playing with the little girl from downstairs.

A few close ups we took when trying to change his diaper.
In the first one he looks a little stressed. :)

....then he's happy....

...then he is showing off!

And finally Kadin feel asleep like this today while i was reading to him.

Not only is Kadin sleeping in his bed at night but I actually broke down and gave up my afternoon nap with him and now he sleeps in there during the day as well.
As I took him to bed last night and he ran ahead of me to jump in his bed I thought to myself "Six months ago if someone had asked me if we would ever get to this point I would have laughed LOUDLY and said no." :)
But alas here we are with an amazing son who is gorgeous in every way and even moreso when he goes to sleep quietly in his bed.
More on sleep later.
For now I want to ask if I told anyone about Kadin peeing on our carpetted living room floor a few weeks back? No...I didnt think so.
Seems Hasan thought it would be ok if Kadin roamed the house *ahem* "freely" for a bit and I agreed. However my paranoia kicked in 5 minutes later and I wanted the diaper back on. I will say that Hasan did put it back on but without the pajama pants - which I would like to say I also insisted on.
Kadin simply removed the diaper again. Alas Hasan would not listen and felt it was still OK for Kadin to be without the diaper. Not 30 seconds later a strange noise appeared in the room with us and we quickly realized it was Kadin's pee hitting and splashing against the carpet...pale green carpet.
Back to sleep.
Kadin is a little different then some kids. I have tried with numerous teddy bears and other such assorted stuffed animals, to get him to form a bond with a bear or frog or elephant. However he just is not interested.
Instead our kid falls asleep most nights with a book wrapped tightly in his arms....and god help us all if you try and take the book. Hell is unleashed and bed time for Kadin becomes Xanax time for mommy. (jk:)
Anyways I finally have the proof. Today - ironically enough - Kadin fell asleep clutching Sleeping Beauty.

The first night we went in 5 times between 8 pm and 9:30 pm. And again he woke and we went i n 4 times between 2 am and 3:30 am. Each time what worked? I had to be firm with him. The other times we were coddling him because we thought he might be afraid or something but once I said "That's enough. Go to bed. Stay in bed." He went right to sleep.
Now thats not without the muffled sobs, giant tears and attemping to hide the crying....but what grandparent needed to hear that right? Sorry... :(
Last night I only went back in once and I "lay down the law" as we like to say and he went right to sleep and he didnt wake all night. YEAH! Kadin's in his big bed! :)
Oh and yesterday while doing his paper route Hasan saw a bear. Yes folks...we live in the mountains....a bear ran across the road in front of him. Scary.
I don't have a lot pf new pics but here are some that didnt make it on before.
Kadin and I are almost the same height now! heh

Our downstairs neighbours dog - Jake. He is gorgeous and so sweet. Kadin always says "Hi Jake. Luv you". Its so sweet.

If he could get control of the bottom lip I think he could get this drooling thing under control as well. :)

Here is Kadin getting ready to go to the pool with his abu.

I thought this picture might scare some...but its cute. :)

See I can prove he watched TV while reading to Kadin....sorta.

I can't even believe I am doing this given my level of insecurity but they just cost so much money. I am talking about Crest White Strips.
I really wanted whiter teeth for the wedding especially after going through the grooling hours of dentist work I went through in the last few months. I was really hesitant to buy anything considering how expensive it all is. The white strips are a whopping $40 for like 14 strips.
But alas here is the proof my friend. They work and are worth every cent. So much so that I am going to buy them again right before the wedding. Forgive these gaudy pics but know I am doing this for the greater good. heh
BEFORE (yuck)

AFTER

I think its a pretty huge difference don't you?
And on a much lighter and happier note we may be getting some very, VERY special guests this September. We are keeping our fingers crossed....more on that later once more plans are laid out. :))
See...? Now I am going to start this post and it has nothing to do with the title I picked. Moving on....
It amazes me the attachment Kadin has to his abu. I know the child loves us but when it comes to Hasan and him, I can see it...ya know? Kadin jumps with excitement when Hasan comes home, squealing "BABU BABU!!!" The hugs are endless and the attention he demands can be overwhelming.
With Hasan's paper route (now a thing of the past) Kadin would never see Hasan in the morning...well rarely. The last two times he has seen him has been emotional to watch. He can't get enough of it. Holding onto Hasan around his neck and refusing to let go. Cuddling him and showering his abu with kisses. Kadin adores his abu and every minute he insists on showing it, are moments filled with a lot of emotion.....my heart fills just watching it all.
This evening Kadin and I watched some of a National Geographic special about a river in Africa that flamingo's flock to in the month of July. Millions of them. Kadin was enthralled and would bark at me if he thought for one minute I was changing it. At one point he walked up to the TV and hugged it making the "UHHHHH" sound. However when the baboons started eating the birds mommy had to change it. His screaming for 2 minutes was better for me then watching the bird being eat....well nevermind.
An now onto the pics.
Kadin had his first experience with the ice cream man the other day. The pics are a little distant but you can see. Usually Kadin just dances to the music of the truck!

I guess watching mommy exercise isnt that exciting!

I believe Kadin's hat has become his "blanky" or "teddy". He really must wear it at all times.

Kadin and I spent some time at the river this morning. It was beautiful outside and it gave abu time to sleep. We started down the path and Kadin ran the whole time....even when his shoe fell off. Then it was a game of chase for him as I tried to catch him and put it back on. :)

Kadin loves to throw rocks in the water (well actually he likes to throw rocks everywhere YIKES) and sometimes he can get a little close. Like this morning when the first thing he did was charge into the river. Oh well he didn't mind the wet sneakers. Never fear grandparents, the river is about 1 inch deep. :)

I like to call the following two "What drool?"

This is why we moved....yes there were other reasons...but for me this is it. City living does not even compare to this! Look at what Kadin can do. Beautiful.

And now please excuse me while I convince myself I have even an inkling of photographic talent. heh

As I watched the sports news today I was baffled by the story of a BC Lions football player who could not practice because of a sore toe. Why is it Christina Applegate can do a broadway show on a broken foot but a CFL football player can't practice on a sore toe? Not a broken toe...but a sore toe.
As well I think they need to stop using horse parts for glue and start using baby snot. Honestly.
Kadin's snot is so freaking sticky that at times I think of using it to put up posters or collecting it for future school supplies.
After finding victory with two such snots today, I then spent at least 6 hours trying to get them off my finger!
I guess eating paste would take on a whole new meaning eh? :)
I just can't do the title thing. How's this one?
Right now Kadin is throwing Daisy's food from one of the house to the other (exaggeration). He really likes to feed her and we don't see a big deal with it but lately it has turned into some sort of fetching game where she has to find individual pieces of food scattered throughout the kitchen. :)
We seem to have gotten a grip on Kadin's sleeping again. Recently he was back to crying himself to sleep for whatever reason and it was troubling. We appear to have turned a corner however. The last few nights the crying has stopped - well not last night (more later) - and he is actually sleeping past 5-5:30 am. HOOHA!
Now last night Hasan spent a good bit of time with him in the room and when he left Kadin was cool and made no noise. Hasan went to bed just about that time (My amazing fiancee has taken on a few extra jobs to help us with buying a house and the wedding. Hasan is getting up about 3:30 am everyday and so he is off to bed quite early.) And maybe 30 mins after Kadin settling down he lets out a huge cry and he actually sounded a little off. I ran to the room only to find him at the bottom of the crib, on his stomach, holding hands out and crying. What happened? I have no idea. But after some cuddling and reassurung he was cool again.
Do you like that I describe my 21 month old as cool? heh
Before I show the pics this post I wanted to say that Hasan and I have booked our trip to Newfoundland where we are gonna get hitched. We are excited and so are most. This year has been tough and although we have taken some good steps it appears the tough times are to continue. The decision to get married this way and "whatever", has been the hardest thing we have ever done to date, and though some are still disappointed in us for their reasons, we hope that when all avenues are looked at they will come to have some understanding of mine and Hasan's decisions. This is what everyone wants right?
So here are some new pics enjoy.
Here are a few of Kadin enjoying some supper with Hasan. He wants to do everything Hasan does...including sit in a big boy chair......and stuff his face with too much hotdog!!

Now tell me would you eat off this mess? Kadin can be a picky eater but eating fries and nuggets in a bath of milk......mmmmmm delic!!!!

In the beginning to get Kadin OK with teeth brushing we have let him take it around the house with him and what not whenever he brushes. Now we are showing him he has to hang in the bathroom when doing it. He doesnt mind one bit. We have also starting letting him wash his own hands in the bathroom sink...he also loves that.

Here are a few pics of my boys getting ready to go swimming. In one Kadin was too busy with Hasan's neck hair to look at the camera! hahaha

If only you knew how hard it is to take a pic of Kadin...he wants the camera right or wrong!

Here are two pics of Kadin in his new bed. He hasnt actually slept in it yet but we will get him there when he is ready.

Kadin and Hasan reading together. There were more but in a lot of them Hasan was watching TV. NO Im kidding! haha

And finally the best for last. Kadin actually did this himself and then refused to let either of us touch the hat!

PS - I just went out to the kitchen to find Daisy's long fur riddled with noodles. I really enjoyed picking each soft noodle out of her long fur. Kadin likes to feed her from his chair...hence the noodles in her long fur. *sigh*
