This weekend we took Kadin to a local fair. Unfortunately he was a little young to participate in some of the activities...well most of the activities, but he loved looking at the horses and yelling at strangers. Kadin ate an entire fair hamburger, and even walked in some fair horse poo all in the name of the women's shelter here in Squamish.
He has picked up this new little trick which is adorable. Kadin walks around the apartment knocking on the walls and then leaning in and saying to that wall "Hewwo" (hello of course). He repeats this throughout the house and takes it quite serious I might add.
I know I have mentioned his singing before but as seen here it has reached a whole new level. The small AA battery has now become his microphone of choice. In the past he has used unplugged cords and plastic gardening toys. If he is in the car seat, Kadin left with no choice will resort to a cappella.

We thank the powers that be everyday for Kadin's sleeping. We had it so rough and now every night we are so grateful for sticking it out and letting him fall asleep on his own. Some nights Kadin can be in bed before 7:30!! It is so relaxing and nice. Next time 3 months for sure! Anyways here is one of those nights. He is barely holding it together and it may be before 7 pm!!!

Oh I forgot Kadin had his first ice cream cone on the weekend as well. Ate it all by himself he did. And I have pics to prove it.

And Abu enjoying his as well. Ahhhh... there is my husband to be! :)

When Kadin was a baby his abu-jan and dadi gave him a Leap Frog for Eid. Although we have been showing him how to play with it for sometime he is now actually playing with it all by himself.

And finally we have some pics too cute to not show. Love this kid!!!

And I also wanted to say HI to everyone we know living in cold cold Ontario and cold cold Newfoundland. Squamish set all new records in temperatures this weekend and just this Sunday it was 28 degrees here! Nice eh?
I have a lot to write about today so let's get to it.
First I want to congratulate a couple of old friends of mine, Cora Lee and Jeremy on the birth of their baby boy Mitchell Xavier Kilfoy. He is gorgeous!!!!!
And now... Hasan and I have finally set our wedding plans in motion and have decided that we will get married July 30th this year. We have contacted just about everyone to let them know the date...sorry if we couldnt reach everyone.
I am not having a big wedding for reasons I won't get into here but we have decided on something very small. This way everyone is happy. Even me. I just want to be married to Hasan at this point and so we...changed some things and now everyone is happy we are just getting married. :)
We are having a small ceremony (well not even a ceremony really) at my parents house in July. The mayor is going to drop by around 5:30 and by 5:45 we will be husband and wife. We arent having any bridesmaids or groomsmen or anything like that. Just Hasan and I with family, and well Kadin of course.
Afterwards my parents have planned a party for everyone and that too is deemed casual. So we can't wait and as time goes by I am sure I will have more to say about it. Yeah us!
And now onto Kadin. Well he got his hair cut. Yes indeed he did. Got it all cut off he did. Actually he cried his way through the entire ordeal while holding tightly to Hasan and not letting go. He was terrified but a trooper. The hair dresser was amazing and got through it quickly and with a decent cut. I mean imagine trying to cut the hair of a child who is sobbing and has his face buried into his father's shoulders. She was a trooper as well. :)
Kadin's dictionary of animal sounds continues to grow and his counting on fingers trick (hehe) is his favorite. Usually beginning and ending with "two" but he makes some other sounds as well and I am willing to bet they are the other numbers...mmmhmmmm yes they are. :)
As you look at your child growing you wonder what they will decide they want to be. We wonder no longer. Kadin will be either a professional wrestler or professional laundry folder...or maybe even have a PHD in dishwasher unloading or grocery packing away...OH never you fear we are teaching him the ways of the world. Anyways back to wrestling which our child does non-stop really. He wrestles with me, with his abu, with pillows, with his recliner chair, a robot, a sheet of paper...whatver may be lying in the path of Kadin the Pewfie becomes prey to his skillful bashing and rolling.
Kadin really likes the "go" word now too. He has been saying it for sometime but now he gets what it means. It means that mommy and abu better swing him in the air when we walk or else he will crumble to the ground losing all strength in his legs. Imagine how this all goes down when it is just Kadin and I out for our morning walk....when there is no one holding his other hand...and he falls to the ground, yelling "UH, two, chree GOOO"
Kadin also understands going in the car which he pronounces "CAOU"....hmmm hopefully that sounds out right. Kadin also occasionally calls me "MOWME" and Hasan "BABU" Its cute and we love it of course. His understanding of language is outstanding and he picks eveything up very quick now. I hope I havent left anything out.
Ok so yeah the hair cut. Im just not so sure. Here are some pics to enjoy.
This was before the hair cut of course. And this is what happens when Abu puts Kadin to bed with uncombed wet hair.

Here is Kadin getting his first taste of Playstation. Too much too soon! hehe

And now for the hair cut.....*SIGH* I know he is gorgeous like this I just miss the hair.

And finally here is a picture of me NOT smothering Kadin. :)

So this was on my window on Friday. My dining room window. And it sat there for hours....I guess it comes with the territory...mountain living.

We also went to the fair and it was awesome! Kadin marvelled at the rides....unfortunately he was still too small for the rides they had. He didn't like the cotton candy...I think it was the texture.
His abu proudly won him two bears seen here...it also allowed Kadin to pick up a new animal sound - frog. I have been saying "The frog says RIBIT: and Kadin replys in a low husky voice "ME ME". It actually sounds more like the road runner!

This weekend Hasan ended up working till late on Saturday night so for most of the week it was Kadin and I locked up in this house a lot...too much in fact. In rains a lot here in Squamish! But we have discussed it and we both said some things we didnt mean...but we learn to forgive and forget and move on! hehe
Anyways, here are some other new pics. Enjoy!
Here is Kadin reaching for the camera...as always!

Here is me asking for a kiss...and Kadin giving me his sly look!

Here is Kadin giving his abu (behind the camera) a kiss instead.

And here I am pinning Kadin to the wall to steal a kiss...that is until I see the drool. My isnt he handsome!?

The next few shots show Kadin with a hat on that was made for him when he was born. Gorgeous! He wore it a lot last year but I fear he has outgrown it. And well because of that we must include these humiliating pictures, which he will hate us for later. Just look at that sly look again!

The adjustment shot!

And finally the escape....."Young Child Star Flee's Paparazzi"

And now for a rare pic indeed...Kadin AND Daisy peacefully in one picture. (pssstttt...its cause Kadin doesnt see her)!

We bought Kadin a new picture book which has many animals in it so of course we have taken to making the animal sounds when telling him what the animal is.
At Christmas we knew he had a talent for it when he received a rocking horse from his nanny and poppy and immediately picked up the sound of the horse. His interpretation goes something like this "Eheeehehhehhe."
And now for the list of other animal sounds:
When we say monkey Kadin says "EEEE EEE EEE OUU EEEE EEE"
When we say pig or even pink for that matter, Kadin says...well he makes a very distinct coughing sound which sorta sounds like a pig snorting right? I guess thats how we sound to him.
When we say dog Kadin says "ARR ARR ARR" in a very high pitched voice.
When we say sheep he says "BA BA BA"
And thats about it at this point. He doesnt like cats or cows (although he says "cow" he won't make the noise for it) or birds or mice but he does love to squeal like a monkey.
Kadin's words are becoming more and more clear everyday and the grasp he has on them is amazing. Just this morning he heard Hasan getting ready for the shower and he yelled "Abuuu....Abuuuu" until Hasan came in to see him.
Last night we found this little sleeper amoungst some old cloths and Hasan was convinced it belonged to a doll or the little girl downstairs....but it didnt. It belonged to our little baby boy. He has grown so much and become so smart...its hard to keep up really.
And this weekend? Well there is a fair in town and we are going tonite and tomorrow. I am sure there will be plenty of pictures. I cannot wait to see Kadin's face when he gets a look at all the rides and stuff.
Until then enjoy these pics.
I am a bit if a stickler for the mountains here and most especially when they are consumed by fog. Its amazing to see and I am constantly trying to capture the essence of it in pictures. Here are a few. I still think you have to see it in person to appreciate how it looks when the fog is everywhere.

Kadin loves to brush his teeth...it has become one of his favorite activities...and for that we are grateful. :)

Remember when I discussed the table sitting and how Kadin is a little too small to eat at it...well have a looksie. It isnt too bad for the sitting but the eating may be another story.

And finally here is the look that kills all other looks. The "I know you want a picture of me" look!!!! How sly is this child? I am sure we havent even scratched the surface.

First let's wish Zahrah Phuppo a great big Happy Birthday!! It was actually yesterday, and we would have wished it then but believe it or not Hasan couldn't get the pictures off the camera and unto the computer so I had to take care of it today! heh
Kadin took a bit of a fall this weekend. He has taken to climbing the kitchen chairs and this weekend he realized how much fun it would be to stand on the chair. We told him immediately to sit and he did, but without moving his position he was doomed to fall. I reached and Hasan ran but we were too far to grab him and Kadin hit the dining room floor with quite a smack.
We grabbed him right away and he didnt actually cry right away. I think he may have gotten such a fright. But he was fine and when the crying did kick in it lasted only minutes before he was back up on the chair again.
Thing is right now that Kadin hates sitting in his booster chair and really wants to sit at the table with us, but with his nose just reaching the table top, it isnt quite possible for him to eat like that yet. But soon.
We went out driving yesterday and we found Kadin speaking to himself in the backseat; which he does often. However this time he was counting on his fingers! Can you imagine?? Hasan has been going through the motions of finger counting at night when he takes Kadin to bed and I guess he really enjoys it!
Anyways only a few pictures today but Kadin is seen here with his colouring book and crayons that his nanny and poppy gave him for Easter. His first pack of crayons...and he only ate the black one! So all is well! hehe

Another "GIVE ME THE DAMN CAMERA" MOMENT!!!

Kadin put his own hood up here and then refused to have it taken down...even around the house!
