Dat's some by' ya got der!!

Last week Kadin went swimming again and loved it. This time mommy stayed back but Hasan said he was so brave and walked down the ramp into the deeper part of the pool by himself and only stopped when the water got to his neck almost!!? I couldn't believe it when he told me. Kadin is so brave. I mean Hasan was obviously sitting right in front of him as he walked, just to ease the minds of worried grandparents everywhere!

It amazes us everyday how smart this kid is. He is at a stage where he literally will repeat just about anything you ask him to...and somethings you don't. Now please keep in mind that he will only say these things once, and if you ask him a second time or later in the day he looks at you like you're from Mars.

Kadin has been doing this unbelievable thing.....well I would say for me. I noticed it recently.....when I cook and I have to open the oven or go stir something, he follows me to the stove and stands there saying over and over and over "MMMMMMMMMMM. Hot. MMMMMMMMMMMmm. Hot. MMMMMMMMMMM. Hot." Can a boy do anything nicer for his mom? I don't think so. :)

Kadin has also taken up the guitar. Its a plastic one we gave him when he was very young and although he played with it (hitting stuff and throwing it) he is now actually attempting playing with it properly and what else you might ask? Well... he sings along to his own guitar playing!! Watch out Eric Clapton! Although, without any disrespect, I do not think Kadin will have to compete with Eric when he becomes a huge rock star! Because Eric is old....now....and will probably be dead by then. Sorry Eric.

Kadin's singing consists of "Yaaaaa...yaaaaaa...mmmaaaaaa....dooooo....yaaaaaa..." But he really holds the notes and strums away at the guitar! LOVE IT!

He is also loving helping us with anything he can. Kadin likes to help load and unload the dishwasher. Handing me the dishes (incl. the cutlery) one piece at a time but I love it. He never runs away with the remote now. Always hands it over when he picks it up. And last night...Kadin helped us put the groceries away. He lugged the bags from the top of the stairs to the kitchen (3-4 feet...don't worry) - at least what he could lift - and then proceeded to unpack everything one by one and hand it to Hasan or I. As the bags became empty he put them in the drawer where they belong! I'm not kidding!!

We think its important that Kadin participate in these things and not just be told to get out of the way. It makes for much much nicer experiences and less screaming!

Oh gosh did I mention there is no bottle anymore? We just stopped giving it....no fuss no muss. Kadin never knew the difference.

This post turned out a lot longer then I thought but I have to get everything in there for everyone who reads. I never thought being a parent could be like this. This child has changed me in so many ways and all for the better. It has been the most fulfilling and outstanding experience of my life...and its only getting better and even more exciting!

Ok picture time!!

Kadin spends most of his days like this. Surrounded by toys but only reading books.
