Kadin enters the digital age, and Hasan & Tonia have an adult night (not THAT kind of adult!)

Santa was kind this year (though he did make me visit Futureshop at 5:23 AM on Boxing Day) and provided us with a nice new digital camera (Canon Powershot A85), so other than scanning a few remaining packs of film, GOODBYE STUPID UGLY SCANNER!

Here's one of the 300 pictures I've taken since 6 AM.

Now to go back a few days.

Last Wednesday night, Tonia and I were alone for the first time since September 7, 2003. Or at least, it sometimes feels that way! With the best possible babysitters in the world (Tonia's parents) protecting the world from caring for our darling son, we headed off to a fancy schmancy dinner at Maurya, a lovely Indian restaurant in Vancouver.

After filling ourselves to the point of being sick OR MAYBE BEYOND, we went out for a few drinks at Woody's pub on Brunnette. It was "ladies night" there, emphasized by the fact that of the 6 women in the entire bar, one of them was Tonia and 3 of them were waitresses. The rest wore jogging pants and had mullets.

Being the hard drinker that I am, after 2 pitchers of Keiths between us we headed home and talked a lot about how much we needed to pee the entire 3.43 minute walk.

Skip ahead two nights, and we're at Christmas Eve where after hours of setting everything up, we all headed to bed at around 2 AM. After sleeping ALL THE WAY until 5 AM, it was time to get up and start working on the turkey dinner!

I say "we" rather loosely, since Tonia did nearly everything while I kept pacing the hall for some reason, and helped cut a turnip in half. Kadin slept in until 6 AM, and we had a GRAND time opening his 9 billion gifts! Picture and video to be available soon.

Skip ahead to this morning, and at 5 AM I rolled out of bed to hit the local Futureshop for their boxing day sales. Specifically, I picked up this lovely Powershot A85, a 512 MB Sandisk Type II memory card, and 4 NiMH 2300 batteries+charger. By 6 AM I was home, hidden away in the room taking pictures of my feet and the walls.

Not just any foot, but a DIGITAL foot!

A wall. And Ernie. On the wall.
