It's been a very rough few days for our little boy. Let me explain.
(10:00 AM, Thursday March 11)
We went in for Kadin's 6 month immunizations that morning. Since each time we go for his needles his a few pounds bigger and much more active, we thought he would be a terror when the nurse gave him a needle. We couldn't have been more wrong!
While he did cry for a second, he was all smiles a moment later. Off home we went!
(3:00 PM)
Tonia calls me at work to let me know Kadin is running a bit of a fever, but she's calm and is giving him some baby Tylenol.
(9:00 PM)
Kadin's temperature hasn't really gone down in the last few hours, so I pick up a fresh supply of baby tylenol on my way home. Shortly after getting home, Kadin starts projectile vomiting whenever we try and give him Tylenol.
We called the nurses line who went over some fever-breaking tips that we already knew, re-assured us that a fever within 1-2 days of the immunization was normal, and also that if we were worried by all means take him to the hospital.
As he needed to sleep in our bed and us take his temp every 2 hours, you can understand it was a long night for all three of us!
(6:00 AM, Friday March 12)
With all three of us up, we tried to give Kadin a little bit of formula. Once again he spit that up, so at this point we decided to take him to the hospital (luckily it's about a 5 minute drive).
(6:30 AM - 10:00 AM)
It's really funny how a nurse, while applying a urine bag to a little boy, can continue to say "What a gorgeous girl you have!"
Other than that, the doctor found nothing to worry about and chalked it up to a virus. He also took a urine culture and recommended we see Kadin's regular doctor in the next few days.
Tonia here. It takes me 3 days to get him to write an entry and then he doesn't finish it. *sigh*
Kadin's doc's appt was yesterday and everything was fine. They want us to do the pee test again but otherwise all is well.
Now I have a question for you all....does Kadin look like a girl? Our doc yesterday kept calling him a girl.... "She is this.." "She is that..." BLAH BLAH!!
Hasan and I made many attempts to make her realize she was wrong by saying "He is..." "He did.." Finally Hasan said loudly "Oh my Kadin what a big boy you are."
Then she got it. But proceeded to tell us that it was hard to tell. Grrrrr Thanks a lot! Anyways I mean we know it can be hard to tell with babies....but listen to us dammit when we are saying "he" over and over and over again!!
Ok done venting. Have I mentioned Kadin has stopped sleeping through the night and gets up around 4 every morning? YEH! :)
