So in case someone does not know we are all off to Newfoundland for 2 weeks starting tomorrow (Feb 15).
We are super busy so we just wanted to put up a quick post. I'm sure we will have more to say after the trip so stay tuned.
In case anyone was waiting on an email or anything like that we will have to get back to you after the 1st of March. Happy Valentines Day Y'all!!
So some things that Kadin has been up to. He is sitting. Well he mostly bends over so his body is doubled over...but eventually he rights himself and sits up. For brief periods of time but nonetheless he is making strides.
A funny story. The other morning I am feeding him and watching a little "Ellen" at the same time. I sit in my recliner. Kadin is on my lap. I had just mixed the most beautilful cup of Tetley tea. Honestly the first thing I remember is hearing liquid splashing around me...and then I SAW the tea...everywhere. All over the floor...the carpet....the recliner...my PJ's...Kadin's new saucer toy...and Kadin. And in that order.
I was immediately scared he was burnt...however as everyone knows I put way too much cream in my tea and it was quite cool...never hurting the little guy at all.
As a matter of fact when I looked at him he was grinning and holding my mug by the handle.
Kadin will be almost 6 months old when we return from Newf. Hasan and I figure we will have to baby proof. :)
Did ya see my little guy standing? *sigh*
Oh and today we went to the mall to have my eyes checked. As we were leaving Hasan looked at me and said (after some pretty looking girl smiled at our little darlin') "Chicks dig Kadin." Well yes Hasan I guess they do. I think its the amazing little Salt -n- Pepper hat my friend Danielle gave him....it gets lots of attention. I'll make sure it gets on the next roll of film so everyone can see.
Okie dokie.....thats all folks.
I've been calling Kadin a Hasidic Jew recently. Nothing wrong with Hasidic Jew's of course, however Kadin has a new hairstyle which really makes it easy to see the similarity.
As you can see from his pictures, he was born with and still has a full head of hair. What you probably can't see are the two patches on the back left and back right of his head where the hair he was born with has rubbed away (from sleeping on his back) and only the very short new hair is there. Over and around each of his ears though is a long lock of hair which goes down over his ears if you straighten it.
Ok, that was a lot less funny written out than it is said. But ah well.
In other news, teething is LOTS of fun! Kadin has been a touch cranky the last few days, having lost his taste for cereal, spit up 89 gallons all over Tonia and the floor (88 of those gallons in one sitting, yeah!), and just generally irritable.
We're not totally without our own strategies though. A small capful of rum before bedtime means he sleeps blissfully through the night and stays in a really pleasant mood for most of the morning!
Heh.
But seriously. We've stocked up on baby oragel, baby tylenol, gripe water, soothing toys etc etc. We'll keep you all posted on cranky-pants-Kadin's teething progress!
Now back to watching Kadin practice spitting.
